Sam Schwartz was part of a team under contract with the New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) to provide site/civil engineering design services for the development of The Learning Farm, at 7103 Avenue T in Brooklyn. The Learning Farm, which facilitates education for students about urban farming, consists of planting areas, herb and flower gardens, a greenhouse, and an outdoor pavilion.

Sam Schwartz facilitated new water and sewer service connections to the DEP-owned infrastructure in surrounding streets, developed a grading and drainage plan for the site, and won regulatory approvals for the site’s stormwater pollution prevention plan, exterior street and sidewalk design, and street tree placements.
