Sam Schwartz is supporting the Port Authority of NY & NJ (PANYNJ) in its efforts to ensure that the airport landside transportation network remains functioning and resilient during the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport. The airport remains fully operational during the extensive, $8B capital redevelopment program, which includes the construction of a new Central Terminal Building and upgrades to other facilities throughout the airport.

To assist PANYNJ, Sam Schwartz assembled an interdisciplinary team of traffic engineers, urban planners, and urban designers to anticipate the impacts of construction to the transportation network; propose plans to improve travel to and from the airport; assist in monitoring the airport during high-volume travel days; study and develop recommendations for landside operations; and assist in planning and executing customer experience improvements. The firm’s deep understanding of traffic engineering, coupled with expertise in strategic problem solving and experience with outreach for large-scale infrastructure projects, allows for adaptive responses to changing client needs.
