TriMet Battery bus feasibility study
Following on the success of Sam Schwartz’s battery bus feasibility study for King County Metro in Seattle, TriMet retained us for a similar engagement with their agency. The study included a service analysis of which bus routes/runs can currently be converted to battery electric buses based on total run time and layover times, identification of mid-route charging locations, and a plan for transitioning the entire fleet based on TriMet’s long-term bus procurement plan and improvements in technology. The study included a lifecycle cost analysis and cost-benefit analysis of battery electric buses and assessment of impacts to bus storage facilities.
