Mike Flynn leads Sam Schwartz's New York office, directing strategy and growth, championing innovation, and supporting staff collaboration and professional development. A national expert on urban mobility, he supports a range of innovative planning, policy, design, and strategy projects to help cities and towns achieve economic, environmental, and equity goals through an effective transportation system and human-centered public realm. Mr. Flynn draws on nearly two decades of public, private, and nonprofit sector experience that has spanned city, neighborhood, and corridor-level transportation plans; strategic and organizational planning; design, funding, and implementation of multi-modal infrastructure; policy development and best practice guides; and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to joining Sam Schwartz, Mr. Flynn served for ten years at the New York City Department of Transportation, where his award-winning work helped the city prioritize traffic safety, sustainable mobility and improved project delivery as part of standard business practices. He is an active member of the American Planning Association and Institute of Transportation Engineers and has served on the faculty of the Urban & Community Planning program at Pratt Institute.
